Hello everyone,

I know the demand for another blog entry has been through the roof, so I'll really try to deliver with this one. Since I last updated I have done lots of things. Most importantly i watched the first episode of LOST which was incredible and really packed a punch of confusion and suspense. No, of course nothing was really answered, but its nice to know I now have my weekly ritual watching and thinking something will be explained. Classes have been going good, they're easy-peasy and sort of boring but they dont really take up much time so thats ok with me. It seems like internet at my house is gone for good. I'm glad it was there for the first week so that I could not waste away in homesickness and I wish I still had it but I've been able to deal without it. I've been writing a lot recently, which is a bonus. I've also booked tickets to go to amsterdam which should be a blast. That's at the end of February. It's good it gives me something to look forward to. My main strategy that keeps me from missing home too much is to keep myself occupied doing all this other stuff and going all these places. I just focus on the dates that are coming close rather than thinking about the entire semester as a whole. It makes things a little easy than just thinking 'i'm not going to see my best friends and family for four months'.

Anywho, the main event of this weekend was going into London on Sunday. A group of us all went in together. I had those walking tour cards the Egans got me and played the role of tour guide. We started off at Camden Markets. I think someone compared it to the east village but weirder. There were tons and tons of these out door markets and lots of crazy people decked out in punk outfits and goth outfits and all the other "types" of people you can be. It was a pretty cool sight, but it was also cold walking around outside so much. we got tea at this cool coffee place in the middle of it all, so that helped. We met a couple more people there and then walked over to Regents Park, which is another big park in England. They have a zoo there and there were lots of people playing football, or as normal people call it soccer. From there we headed to Abbey Road to see the Abbey Road Crosswalk. Unfortunately, Abbey Road is in fact a Road and there were lots of cars coming and going so we were unable to get a truly accurate picture of us crossing. I think someone took one of me crossing from a side angle, I'll have to get it from them. We met even more people and then all took the subway crosstown to the London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Somewhere during that subway work I got myself some Krispy Kreme donuts which are actually around in Kingston and London. Delicious. Now that I mention it I should get some on the way home... That's the problem of being a twenty minute walk from campus, I'm always hungry on my walk home and get tempted to buy donuts or subway or something. I really shouldn't its really expensive here and i decided i'd pinch my pennies this week after my London trip. And now back to describing that trip... So it was getting dark while we were looking at the bridges and we decided we'd head over to the bar where we'd planned to watch the superbowl. The bar was aptly called "The Texas Embassy" and it had an americana theme with tex-mex food and budweiser as its choice beer. We got there crazy early, but it worked out because there place was mostly all booked, but they let us in anyway, which is pretty cool because we were a group of ten or so. So we all got some food and drinks and waited around for the game to start. Kick off was at 11:30 or so and it was pretty much the worst game i've ever watched. I can't believe the giants won. I mean, obviously, they didn't deserve and they hardly deserve to be called the best team because I mean after all they nearly lost to the Miami Dolphins this year when they played in London. I think it was a fluke game. Eli Manning did do really good I admit and I'm glad he won rather than his stupid brother. I'm also glad the giants got it because they are my second favorite team and I mean it could have been the packers, which really would have been a travesty. Anyway, the Patriots are still the best team in NFL history because they won eighteen straight games and 1972 dolphins only won seventeen. Its like when DJ beat me in smash so many times in the room but when we played that one time on the big-screen in the sub i beat him two our of three. I mean I won the "superbowl" of smash games, but that doesn't make me better at smash in the long run (though I probably could be if i really wanted to). In the end I can't blame the patriots offense, they did the best they could, Brady even got some passes in to Moss which I havent seen in so long because Moss was usually quadruple-covered by the end of the season and Moroney did some great running plays. I think the Patriots need to focus their draft picks on defense next season and then they really will be unstoppable even against the girly-finesse of Eli Manning. Ok, so now i've written more about football than about london, sorry.

This weekend my class is doing a field trip to Oxford. If anything else picture/text worthy happens before then I'll post. Enjoy some London pictures below!

Thanks for reading,
Roy

ps. despite my best efforts my "beard" still won't grow in.
